Private Pilot Flight Training
The Private Pilot Certificate is a very rewarding certificate and allows an individual to pilot an aircraft and carry passengers.  Most individuals will utilize the Private Pilot Certificate for personal use including: travel/vacations, pleasure flights, non-incidental business and travel, and recreational flying. The Private Pilot Certificate is issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and allows a pilot to fly both Day and Night throughout the United States under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).

To become a Private Pilot, the FAA requires an individual to have received the appropriate training from an authorized instructor, to pass the FAA Private Pilot Aeronautical Knowledge Exam, and pass the Private Pilot Practical Test which is administered by an FAA Designated Examiner.

Although Private Pilot flight training can begin at any age, the FAA requires the applicant to have passed an FAA Flight Physical, be at least 16 years of age to fly solo, and 17 years of age to be eligible for the FAA Private Pilot Practical Examination.

The flight requirements to obtain a Private Certificate under Part 61 are a minimum of 40 hours flight time. This flight time includes a minimum of 20 hours of dual instruction and 10 to 20 hours of Solo flight.
